The latest development from Google involves the introduction of two application programming interface which will enhance the facilities for geo location. One of those APIs is based on AJAX and the other one is based on the extension of Gears browser. This is mainly aimed at helping mobile developers and web developers to distribute content easily.

The APIs will also help users to authenticate based on their location. Users will be authenticated for location based on their IP address. The only requirement for users to make use of this service using APIS for geo-location from Google is to have a API key.
