The business sector in Australia has been warned about the need for proper care of personal information of the customers. It has been warned that loss of important personal information can cause serious damage.

A recent survey showed that, over 86% of customers are angry thinking they are becoming direct target of the direct marketing and that, this is due to the loss of personal information from various companies. This has resulted in a situation where in, businesses are asked to inform people in case of using their personal information for other purposes. They must also be given a freedom of choice in this case.
